The Sherwood G2902X is a marine raw water / engine-cooling pump, typically used in conjunction with Caterpillar marine engines (such as 3406E, C15, C18).
Constructed from marine-grade bronze with corrosion resistance, the pump is designed for reliability in saltwater conditions. It uses a neoprene flexible impeller for pumping, and features flange mounting with vertical inlet and outlet ports.
The pump is capable of self-priming (when properly primed initially) and is typically used in closed-loop cooling circuits for marine engines to draw raw sea/lake water for heat exchange.It is also a direct replacement for older Sherwood models (G1808, G18082X, G2902-01 etc.) and is compatible with Caterpillar engine part numbers such as 131-8272 and 196-8895.
